Video Tutorial: How to Create a Hybrid Seating Chart in ThunderTix - Tue - Jul 21, 2026 - 10:01am
-
To create a hybrid seating setup in ThunderTix, you’ll create two versions of the same event—one for general admission and one using your reserved seating chart—then connect them together.First, create the general admission event:
- Go to Events → Event Manager and click Create Event.
- Enter the event name, date, time, capacity, and general admission ticket types.
- Finish creating the event.
- Open its access settings and change the event to Semi-Private. This prevents a second version of the event from appearing on your public page.
Next, create the reserved seating event:- Create another event using the same name, date, and time.
- Select the appropriate seating chart.
- Add the ticket types and prices you want to offer for the reserved sections.
- Keep this version set to Public.
To connect the two events, open the reserved seating event and go to its ticket and section settings. Select the general admission section of the seating chart. ThunderTix will locate the general admission event with the matching date and time and ask whether you want to use it. Select Yes, then submit your changes.Once connected, customers will see only one event on your public page. During checkout, they can choose either a reserved seat or tickets from the general admission section. You can also control which ticket types are available within each reserved seating section.
