How do I add image alt text for my events and packages? - Mon - Mar 16, 2026 - 4:27pm
-
ThunderTix allows you to add alt text (alternative text) to images used on your events, packages, and other public pages. This helps improve accessibility and supports WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.
You can learn more about these guidelines here: https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/
Why add alt text?
Alt text allows accessibility tools to describe images to people who may not be able to see them.
For example:- Screen readers read the alt text aloud for visually-impaired users.
- Accessibility audit tools (like Google Lighthouse) check for alt text when reviewing your pages.
Adding alt text helps make your event pages more accessible and inclusive.
Where do I add alt text?
You can add alt text whenever you upload or edit an image in ThunderTix.
Go to the page where you upload your event or package image.- Below the image, you’ll see a field labeled “Alt text (optional)”.
- Enter a short description of the image.
Example alt text- “Band performing on stage with blue lights”
- “Logo of XYZ Theater”
- “Photo of the main entrance of the venue”
You can also edit existing images anytime to add or update alt text.
Quick tips
• Keep it short and descriptive (around 5–15 words).
• Focus on what’s important for the ticket buyer (artist, event, venue).
• Include useful context if relevant (for example: “Outdoor festival at night with crowd and stage”).
