    Why is email authentication important?
Some Internet email services such as Comcast routinely block emails that are from addresses like AOL, Gmail, and Yahoo. Since they are free, spammers can sign up and send email after email, so Comcast tends to filter them more frequently preventing them from arriving to your intended recipient's inbox. Email authentication allows you to send from thinktankya.org, and Comcast views your own private email as more secure.

Domain authentication is an optional service providing to increased email deliverability. It also allows emails to be sent from your company's email and domain name for truly branded emails. Emails sent this way are less likely to be marked as spam.

    Requirements for email authentication
The verified email must be from a domain owned by you; emails such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. are ineligible for authentication. Domain authentication shows email providers that ThunderTix has your permission to send emails on your behalf. To give us permission, you point DNS entries from your DNS provider (like GoDaddy, Rackspace, or Cloudflare) to MailGun and MailJet (our third-party email providers).

The CNAME record creates an alias for yourcompany.thundertix.com and points to Mailgun and/or MailJet. The CNAME is needed for our click and open tracking features in order for those statistics to be routed back to your MailGun account. This will also be what your messages are signed by, so your recipients will be able to see what you have chosen for your CNAME. You set up the CNAME files that Mailgun/MailJet provides with your DNS host.

    Pricing
Domain authentication is a one-time $145 setup fee and $5/month. Once you upgrade for this service, we'll provide you the DNS records to start the process of domain authentication.

Upgrade your account to add domain authentication from one of two places:

To make use of this service, email addresses must be from your own domain. You may not use emails from free email services such as Yahoo, Gmail - Change GMail Email Settings, AOL, Hotmail, or Comcast.
