What is a Membership? - Mon - Jun 10, 2024 - 1:49pm

  • What Are Memberships?

Memberships in ThunderTix let you bundle a variety of benefits — like tickets, merchandise, concessions, discounts, and visibility — into one curated package for a set price. They make purchasing easier for your patrons, save them time (and sometimes money), and help increase your sales and revenue.

They also save your staff time. Memberships automatically connect with ThunderTix features like Products, Coupons, and Donor Levels, so benefits are delivered the moment a patron completes their purchase.

    How Do Memberships Work?

When a patron buys a Membership, ThunderTix automatically:

    • Sends a donor email.

    • Issues any merchandise or concession products, linked to their CRM profile for pickup.

    • Issues coupons for eligible discounts on tickets or products.

All benefits are instantly assigned to the patron’s profile — no manual fulfillment required.

    Note:
Memberships are sold as a bundle, so you can’t refund individual items (like just a product); the full membership must be refunded.

    Who Uses Memberships?

Memberships work for many types of organizations:

    • Theatres — e.g., donation tiers like Friend, Patron, and VIP, with perks such as ticket discounts, free merchandise, and name recognition.

    • Sporting Venues — e.g., discounted concessions, game tickets, and team apparel.

    • Music & Dance Venues — e.g., tiered fan packages with exclusive merchandise and event access.

    Example:
A theatre’s Friend tier might include 10% off one ticket per event, a free tote bag, and a name in the playbill. A VIP tier could include two free tickets per event, a tote and mug, and name recognition in the lobby. A sports venue might offer home game tickets, concession discounts,
