Membership benefits are exclusive rewards offered to supporters of a venue, providing added value and appreciation for their engagement. These benefits may include special products, donation acknowledgments, curated packages, and discount coupons—each designed to enhance your customer's experience and show your thanks for their support. Most likely, the higher the membership level, the more valuable the benefits will be. Currently, there are 4 specific benefit options available, all of which are automated!
After you clicked 'create' for your membership level, you will see this box populate:
There are four different benefits you can set up on ThunderTix that will be automated upon the purchase of a membership. Let's go through the creation process of each benefit.
1. DONATION: This benefit enables you to choose from pre-existing campaigns and set a specific percentage or dollar amount of the membership price to be allocated toward this desired campaign. As an example, you may choose to allocate 10% of your member's fee toward a "Sound System" campaign. This is beneficial for the member, since this portion of their membership fee will be considered a donation, and therefore, potentially tax-deductible. Furthermore, it drives money into the "Sound System" campaign and lets your members know exactly what their donation is going toward. The best part is that this all happens automatically (including a donation receipt) as soon as your member chooses their level and completes their membership purchase.
Note: You have to have already set up a fundraiser campaign to add it to this benefit. That way, you will be able to search for it in the box that says "Search for a fundraising campaign". It will automatically contribute whatever dollar or percentage amount to the campaign upon purchase.
2. COUPONS: Another benefit option is Coupons, which enables you to provide special perks to your members, such as BOGO tickets for one show in the season, or perhaps 15% off show tickets, redeemable up to 50 times. To add coupon benefits, you'll want to first choose "Coupon" from the benefit options dropdown.
You can then search an existing benefit coupon or you can create a new one by clicking on the "+New Coupon" option:
Clicking "New Coupon" will give you the option to build a new coupon:

To edit and manage your Membership Coupons, you can head to Memberships >> Membership Coupons. There you'll have the option to edit any existing membership coupons, using the orange "Edit" link beneath each coupon.
Please note that Membership Coupons are different from coupons created for events or packages, in that they are created on a per-member basis, meaning the code created is unique to each member. Additionally, for members who purchase levels that include coupon benefits, the coupon(s) will be automatically applied when applicable, meaning the member won't need to locate the code, copy/paste it while checking out - rather, it will automatically be applied!
3. PRODUCTS: The most tangible benefit option is products, which are similar to coupons, in that you'll head to Revenue Builders >> Products to create your products. Click here to see a step-by-step on how to make a product! Once you have created your product, you can search for it in the field below. Some examples of products might be tote bags, t-shirts, and aprons, which are distributed to the member upon completion of their membership purchase.
4. Packages: This benefit comes in the form of both Packages and Flex Passes. Upon choosing the "Packages" option from the dropdown menu of automated benefit types, you will be able to select any flex pass or package by doing a search for existing and active flex passes and packages. So, you will want to make sure that you already have packages and/or flex passes built and available before adding this as a benefit.
When a customer buys a membership that includes a package benefit, they’ll be guided to select their package type — Fixed, Choose All, Build Your Own, or Flex Pass — during checkout. Packages can be General Admission, Reserved Seating, Hybrid, or Flex Pass, and the package is chosen right as part of the membership purchase. For Flex Pass packages, customers simply select the number of passes they want from the dropdown menu.
