Can I sell or scan tickets while offline? - Tue - May 13, 2025 - 1:10pm

On occasion, you may not have access to WiFi while trying to sell or scan tickets.
Because ThunderTix is a cloud-based platform, it requires an active internet connection to:- Sell tickets via credit card
- Process payments via credit card
You can be connected to either WIFI or your cellular data to interact with ThunderTix. So, if you are using the app and disconnected from Wi-Fi, but have Cellular Data turned on (Settings >> Cellular >> Cellular Data), you will still be able to scan tickets, search for orders, and process cash and credit card transactions.If you're concerned about internet outages during an event, here are some workaround recommendations.
Backup Options:- Mobile Hotspot: Use a smartphone or dedicated hotspot device as a backup connection. Cellular data worked for me when I tested the app without being connected to Wi-Fi.
- Manual Check-In: Download and print guest lists in advance to check in attendees manually if scanners are offline.
- Pre-sell: Encourage patrons to purchase tickets in advance, limiting same-day sales.
