Reconciliation Report Update: More Accurate Revenue Reporting for Gift Cards - Wed - Jul 16, 2025 - 10:11am

  • We’ve made an important update to your Reconciliation Report (CSV export) to help you more accurately match sales to your bank transactions — especially when gift cards are involved.

    What’s New?

Starting today, your downloaded reconciliation report includes two new columns:

    • Paid with Gift Card
    • Refunded to a Gift Card
Previously, any orders paid using a gift card were included in the “Total Paid/Refunded” column. However, this could cause confusion when reconciling with your bank, since:

    • Gift cards are paid for up front (revenue is earned on the date of purchase)
    • Redeeming them does not represent new revenue

Now, orders paid with or refunded to a gift card are clearly separated into their own columns:

    • The “Total Paid/Refunded” column no longer includes gift card redemptions or gift card refunds, ensuring that only revenue actually received that day is shown.
    • This change helps prevent overstating daily revenue and makes your bank reconciliation cleaner and more accurate.

    ✅ Example Use Case

If someone purchases a gift card on July 10 and uses it to buy tickets on July 12:

    • July 10 shows the gift card purchase as revenue.
    • July 12 shows the redemption under “Paid with Gift Card,” not in total revenue — reflecting that no new funds were received that day.

We made this update in response to feedback from venue admins like you who wanted better clarity when reconciling sales with deposits. We hope it makes your financial reporting even easier!
