On Thursday morning, from 9:31 AM to 10:52 AM CDT, ThunderTix venues experienced timeouts and slow load times while processing orders. This impacted both patron purchases and venue admin order management. The issue was fully resolved at 10:52 AM, and all systems have been operating normally since.  We sincerely apologize for the disruption. We know your patrons’ experience and your team’s efficiency rely on ThunderTix running smoothly, and any interruption is unacceptable to us.

Recently, we transitioned from Heroku to AWS for our background services—the systems responsible for long-running tasks such as order processing, email ticket delivery, and reporting. This migration is part of a larger effort to provide greater scalability, speed, and reliability for all ThunderTix venues. 

During this transition, we’ve maintained our previous Heroku environment in “maintenance mode” as a contingency plan. When Thursday’s performance issues occurred, and after several mitigation attempts, we immediately reverted to the stable Heroku service to restore order processing as quickly as possible.

Our engineering team is continuing to fine-tune the AWS configuration and implement additional safeguards to prevent similar interruptions in the future. We’re working diligently around the clock to ensure these infrastructure improvements deliver the long-term performance gains our clients expect and deserve.
