Can I use the Barcode Report to create all barcode images in one spreadsheet for fast scanning? - Thu - Oct 25, 2012 - 1:58pm

In order to manually generate barcodes in excel – you need Free 3 of 9 Extended font. The barcode type that prints on both PDF and thermal tickets are C128. First, you'll need to modify the exported barcode report so that the alphanumeric code in excel has an asterisk before and after in order for the scanner to pick up the barcode.
We've had clients do this because they don’t want to print out 2000 thermal tickets or PDF tickets in advance. This way, they are able to generate many advanced orders to prepare and accommodate for walk-ups without actually printing the tickets on demand. Further, they can account for walk-ups so that the owners can see how many tickets have been scanned throughout the event.
You can also paste the raw codes (no asterisks or anything) into a program like Zint (free and open-source) and it will generate barcodes in PNG format, ready to send to a printer. Make sure to select the Code128 barcode type to generate the same barcodes that ThunderTix does.
