How does Automatic print mode work for thermal tickets? - Thu - Apr 9, 2026 - 10:33am
-
If your venue has thermal tickets enabled, ThunderTix includes an “Automatic print mode” setting located under:
Templates → Thermal Ticket
When Automatic print mode is ON
If all of the following conditions are met:- Your venue has an active thermal ticket template
- A box office admin is processing a paid order
- The tickets are for a performance happening today
Then, after completing the order and reaching the Thank You page, ThunderTix will:- Automatically open the browser’s print dialog
- Load the thermal tickets, ready to print
This feature is designed to speed up walk-up sales at the box office, similar to how tickets used to print automatically at a movie theater window.
If you prefer to print manually
Go to Templates → Thermal Ticket
Find the Automatic print mode section (after “Shipping label and receipt”)- Set it to No
What happens when it's OFF?
The print dialog will not open automatically- On the Thank You page, you’ll still see the “Print to thermal printer” button
- You can click it anytime to open the print window and print tickets manuall

We had a typo in our event spelling which has now been changed but it doesn't reflect on the ticket.
