Customer Classifications allow you to label groups of or even individual patrons. Unlike Donor Classifications which classify donors by their total donations, and unlike Event Genres that classify events for easy searching of say, customers that like "Musicals" or "Country and Western" based on past purchases, Customer Classifications are often grouped around other criteria.
The term, "volunteer", is a classification that might apply to numerous volunteer staff that help facilitate great shows. Alternatively, you might add a "board member" classification and attach it to all those on your board. We allow you to then search for these classified patrons to quickly create spreadsheets for outreach efforts, or you can send mass emails to the group with a push of a button.
Adding new customer classifications
You can add a classification to any existing customer. When viewing a customer record, scroll to the Customer Classifications section. Add any new classification by entering the desired label and save. If you've already created one or more classifications, select the appropriate labels by checking the boxes that apply to the customer you are viewing, and we'll save them to the customer record.
Head to your Patron Database > Search & Mass Mail. Then, click the Genres/Classification tab to find customers that fit the desired classifications. Hovering over a classification shows that it is "clickable". When you click on it, you'll see the option to either change the name of a classification or completely delete it from all patrons.
