Will existing customers be updated when I submit a new customer import file? - Mon - Jun 13, 2022 - 8:04am

  • Head to Patron Database > Import Customers to learn about options for migrating your data into ThunderTix.  If you've already been processing tickets with ThunderTix with active customer data in your customer database, you can still request that we import your customers and/or their corresponding order history from a previous, or third-party, software. 

    At the time that your customer data is being imported, we'll do the following:


    • First, if the customer email already exists, we'll update their record will all of the newer information coming from the file. So, if a phone number already exists for the customer and the CSV file includes a new/different number, we're going to overwrite the existing phone number and replace it with the new number.
    • For rows in the CSV where there is no customer email, we'll search for matching records with the exact same first and last name. If an existing customer is found, we'll do the same as above overwriting that customer's data with what is provided in the new file.
    • If neither the email nor a matching first and last name are found, we'll create and insert a new customer record in the database with all of the newly provided contact information.
