How do I sell full tables that count as multiple tickets for general admission events? - Tue - Nov 20, 2018 - 2:32pm

As you may have learned, creating a separate ticket type called "Table of 8" or "Sponsor a full table" will only generate a single ticket with a single barcode. If you'd like a table purchase to generate a ticket per attendee, take a look at the option below:
Create the separate ticket type with a name like "Tickets for a full table" and price it the same as an individual ticket.
In the ticket description, provide the full cost of a table and specify that when they choose X tickets, a discount will be applied at checkout.
Before the next step, determine what the discount is for purchasing X tickets when purchasing the whole table. For example, if single tickets are $150 and there are 10 seats at a table, someone purchasing 10 tickets for a full table would normally spend $1500. However, if you offer the table for $1200, that's a $300 total discount, or $30 off per ticket.- Head over to Revenue Builders > Coupons
- Select Group Discount in the top menu bar to create a Group Discount that reduces the price of an individually priced ticket by the amount of the discount you calculated above.
- Give the coupon a name
- Select valid events and performances
- Set up the minimum purchase amount and ensure that the minimum tickets to qualify for the discount is the number of tickets for a full table. So, if there are 10 seats at a table, the minimum tickets in their cart would need to be 10.
- Use Advanced Options for applying an expiration date, categorizing coupons, or making them valid for a student discount
So, when a customer selects 10 "Tickets for a full table" that are priced at $150 each, they will see an automatically applied discount when they get to checkout showing $30 off per ticket for a total of $1200. Doing it this way ensures that all 10 tickets are generated for a full table ensuring accurate attendee capacities without any manual oversight. Please see the coupons video tutorial for more information about the group discount options.
