Genres allow you to categorize your events such as "hip hop" and "country" or even "family" and "musical."
To add genres when creating an event, please do the following:
1. After selecting Create Event, expand the Marketing Options tab 2. If you have existing genres, select the checkbox to the left of the genre to apply it to the event 3. To create a new genre, type the name in the text field 4. To create more than one genre, select the + Create Another Genre
You can use genres in your marketing campaigns. To search for customers interested in a specific genre,
1. Navigate to: Patron Database>CRM & Mass Mail. Click on the "Genre/Classification" Tab. 2. There are two options for searching your CRM for purchasers of different genres: use the Genre/Classification search to find any purchasers of a given genre or genres over the entire history of events.

If you have a slow-selling show, you can use Marketing by Genre to market to your intended audience without sending invites to those who have already purchased tickets for another one of your performances or shows. In the field "Have not yet purchased," enter the name of the event in question. Then select the genre of this particular event. For example, if you're presenting Beauty and the Beast, this feature will find all users who have purchased, say, a musical or family event in the past but who have not yet purchased this show. In both cases, you can export the list. If you use ThunderTix's in-house mass mailing tool or if you integrate Mail Chimp or Constant Contact, we'll allow you to send over the entire list of users to send a targeted email campaign. Consider adding a coupon to help spur sales. Adding an expiration date to your coupon with a "Hurry! Offer expires soon!" and you might motivate customers to buy now.
