How do I set up a Goal in my Google Analytics account to track sales? - Fri - Sep 5, 2014 - 3:27pm

To see which website visitors actually completed the ticket purchase process, you'll need to create a "Goal" in your Google Analytics account. Follow the steps below to set up a goal to track actual sales conversions through your ThunderTix page.
- Log in to your Google Analytics account
- Click "Admin", then select an account, under the column labeled View, choose the ThunderTix URL you set up.
- Click Goals, then click the button "New Goal".
- Name the Goal "Bought Tickets" or "Ticket Purchase", or something similar
- Choose the Type to be a "Destination" and click Next Step.
- Under Goal Details, change the drop-down from Equals To to "Regular Expression"
- Enter thank_you in the field.
- You can choose whether to set a value per conversion or to turn on the funnel, but neither are needed.
Once this goal is created, you will be able to track the difference between the number of visitors who started the purchase process down to how many actually finished it. You should also be able to see which websites, or Referrals, have the best/highest conversion rates. This is where you can determine which marketing has the best ROI.
