What is the difference between block and reserve for seats? - Wed - Aug 23, 2017 - 10:38am

Blocking seats are when -- as a logged-in user -- you are able to right-click on any individual seat to block it from being available for sale. Some venues do this to provide the appearance of having more sold seats than actually exist. Others use it to remove seats that may be unavailable for a specific production due to set design. For example, you may block seats from the mezzanine to encourage the main seating area to fill first. Another example is to hold back seats for the family and friends of the cast.

At any time, users may "unblock" seats to free them up for sale.

Reserving seats involves the creation of a reservation at checkout. Instead of collecting payment by credit card or cash, logged in users may elect to "reserve" seats. All order information can be recorded to show the patron for whom the reservation was created. At any time, a reservation may be canceled or payment collected.

Unlike "blocked" seats, reservations count towards your total ticket allotment.
