Why are my numbered seats not in order? - Thu - Jul 19, 2012 - 10:23pm

Numbered seats are alphabetically ordered rather than numeric, thus numbered seats appear as 1, 11, 12, 2, 21, 22, etc. This is because we save seats as 'strings' rather than integers for seat labels. The reason for this is that we have no way of knowing if a seat is an integer, a letter or even a name because many venues have seating charts whose seat labels may be L21 which requires us to be able to add letters into the labeling. Currently, there is no easy way to discern this making it safest to show seats ordered in this manner.
