Can patrons create their own reservations? - Wed - Mar 27, 2024 - 2:54pm

  • Yes! In addition to allowing customers to process their own refunds and exchanges, they now have the ability to process their own reservations without having to go through the box office!

    To enable this feature head to Patron Database > Customer Permissions. There should be a section called RESERVATION PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION OPTIONS.   



    Here you can click the checkbox to allow customers to create their own reservations. You also have the option to include a link in the reservation confirmation to allow customers to cancel their own reservation. You can enter the number of days when the reservation payment is due. We will send reminders 14, 7, and 3 days before the final payment is due. Leave this portion blank if pre-payment is not required. You may also check the box that says "Automatically cancel all reservations that are not paid by the specified time entered above" if you enter in a value for the days when a reservation payment is due. This will automatically cancel any reservations that are not paid for within the set time frame.

    After the permission is enabled, a new payment method will appear on the checkout page for the general public to see that gives them the option to choose the "Reserve" tab rather than paying by credit card in full. The reservation functionality works the same as it does for Reservations processed in the box office. The order will not issue tickets or put the customer on the guest list until the reservation is updated to "paid" status which only happens when the order is paid in full.
