How do I edit my fraud settings with Authorize.net? - Thu - Feb 20, 2020 - 2:58pm

  • In the left-hand menu of Authorize.net under "Tools", click "Fraud Detection Suite".

This will take you to the many settings available for various cases available. The most common reasons a card is declined is for an incorrect CVV or incorrect billing address from that which is connected to their credit card statement.

So, I would recommend checking your settings for those two items first. You can either "Allow" transactions for them to be approved regardless of whether they match or you can "Decline" so that the customer knows they need to fix their mistake. What you don't want do have is "Authorize and Hold For Review" or "Allow, Report Triggered Filter(s)".

These two options allow patrons to receive tickets while Authorize.net waits for you to determine if the order should be approved or declined. If you decide to decline the payment, then the customer already has tickets and a confirmation email that then needs to be voided. So, it's best to either allow or decline payments at the time the order is processed.
