Can we collect extra information on an order? - Wed - Nov 10, 2010 - 6:45pm

If would like for customers to be able to enter extra information on an order, there are a couple of different ways to go about this.
You can create and attach a Survey to your events, or you can edit the Comments field to use whatever wording you desire, or
Surveys
A survey can be up to 5 questions, and on each question, you may choose whether or not to require a response. Surveys can be made up of a combination of questions with open field for answers, or a set list that appears in a dropdown menu.

For in-house sales, you can ask each ticket buyer on the phone or at the box office for the same information.
Editing the Comments field
To update the comments field with the wording of your choice:- Please navigate to: Account > Account Settings > Checkout
- Under the Checkout Fields heading, in the replacement Label for "Comments" Field you can change the label to "who referred you?"
- Additionally, if you want to make the field required, check the box 'Require this field before checkout?
- NOTE: Use Caution enabling this as a required field. Customers often overlook which fields have an asterisk and may find it frustrating to see that they are missing fields. ONLY require this field if it is essential to every order.
- Click anywhere on the page when you are done editing to save
