Can I use the wait-list function without selling tickets? - Wed - Nov 9, 2022 - 3:47pm

If you don't want to have people sign up for classes (events) unless you reach a certain minimum number of people (say, 6), consider using the waiting list on an event without actually allowing signups to the event. This option provides a way to have several dates available for classes that people can sign up to a "wait-list" for that only activate once we hit the minimum.
Ultimately, this concept helps to prevent the cancellation and postponement of classes from a lack of attendees. This will save us from refunding fees, spending the time contacting attendees, etc.
To set up a waiting list without tickets, do the following:- Head to your Event Manager > Click on the name od your event
- Click Public Display in the top menu
- Click Additional Display Options
- Under "ALTERING THE "SOLD OUT" MESSAGE", you can change the text to say something like "Add your name to the Waiting List"
- Then, you can set the capacity for that date to 0 to enable the waiting list.
People could sign up for the waiting list, and when you feel like you had enough to make a class, you could increase the capacity from 0 to whatever the number is and alert each of the people on the waiting list.
