What do the coupon responses mean after a coupon is applied? - Fri - Sep 1, 2023 - 2:39pm

  • Coupons can be applied to events or packages on the checkout page.  After the coupon is applied, you or your customers could see a variety of responses. Below is a list of possible messages they might see and what they could mean.

    COUPON APPLIED:

    Coupons successfully applied as shown above. --  The coupon is valid and was successfully added to the order.

    COUPON NOT APPLIED: Error messages and reasons

    You have entered invalid, previously used, or an improper combination of coupon code(s). -- The coupon was considered invalid.  Reasons a coupon may be invalid:

    • The code was mistyped and doesn't exist.
    • The code was already used the maximum number of allowed times.
    • The code was valid for the event but not this performance.
    • The code was valid for this performance but not for the chosen ticket type.

    Your coupon {coupon_code} exceeds the balance due and cannot be applied. -- You've attempted to add a coupon onto the order whose discounted value is greater than the tickets in the cart.

    Only one per order coupon is allowed for each order.  -- A coupon that was "per order" is applied to this order.  You cannot apply 2 different "per order" coupons in the same transaction.

    {coupon_code} is not applicable to this order.  -- An event coupon was applied on an order where a package is being purchased.  Since you can create coupon codes that specifically apply to a package, please consider creating a coupon for that package.  We do not allow event coupons for a package purchase even if the event was included in the package being purchased.

    The coupon is invalid for one or more events. -- This coupon is valid per order but not for the performances included in your cart.
