Where Does Flex Pass Revenue Show Up After Redemption? - Fri - Feb 27, 2026 - 3:30pm
-
With our flex pass reporting update, redeemed flex passes now show up as revenue on the specific performances and events where they’re used.
When a patron buys a flex pass, we treat that purchase like a holding account or pass-through account:- The original flex pass sale (with full patron info and total package value) is still reported as before.
- But revenue now “travels” from the pass to the events where each voucher is redeemed, so your settlements reflect the true economics of each show.
How the revenue is split
When vouchers are redeemed, the total pass value is divided equally across the events on the pass and applied as revenue to the performance where each voucher is used:- Example: $100 flex pass for 4 events
- Each event gets $25 in revenue when its voucher is redeemed.
- That $25 shows on:
- The Settlement report for that performance.
- The Multi-Event report for that event.
- Example: $100 flex pass for 3 events
We handle rounding so the math always adds up:- First voucher: $33.33
- Second voucher: $33.33
- Third voucher: $33.34
Total still equals $100.00.
This matches how most theatrical organizations expect flex/pass revenue to work: “divide admissions equally and attribute revenue to the performance where the voucher was used.”
Where you’ll see it- Settlement report
- Flex pass package revenue is added into the event’s ticket revenue when the voucher is redeemed.
- That allocation is included in the breakdown so you can see how much of the event’s revenue came from flex passes.
- Your gross ticket sales now increase appropriately when vouchers are redeemed, rather than staying flat while only counts change.
- Multi-Event report
- Each event in the report receives its share of the flex pass revenue when a voucher is used for that event.
- This is crucial if you need to settle with individual producers or shows based on per-performance revenue.
- Reconciliation report
- Remains unchanged. It still reports cash flow at the time of purchase as before; the new behavior focuses on how that revenue is attributed down to events.
