Give customers the freedom to "pay what you can" - Tue - Mar 31, 2020 - 1:41pm
-
Our newest ticket type option provides the ability for you to create "Pay what you can" (PWYC) tickets. We couldn't think of a more apt time to roll out this new feature with the urgent need of many theatres, music venues, tours and more struggling to bring customers in for summer and fall tours. "Pay what you can" options give patrons the freedom to decide the amount that is right for them. For customers wary about purchasing tickets far into an uncertain future or for those that are struggling amidst the challenges we are all facing, PWYC pricing permits them to purchase at prices they can afford. PWYC pricing helps instill confidence in patrons. For those that fear the loss of their investment, an insignificant cost might be just the "ticket" to get them in the door. On the other hand, an open-ended price allows your biggest fans with more stable finances to open their wallets in your time of need and donate generously above your ticket minimum.
To add a new PWYC ticket, click Manage for your Event, then click "Manage Tickets and Prices". Click the "Add Another Ticket" link. Add your new ticket by creating a name, adding a minimum price, and checking the box for PWYC. This will allow customers to select this ticket option for purchase as long as they meet the minimum price you request. (Logged in users can override even this minimum at checkout.)How patrons will see the new "Pay what you can" ticketsLearn more about PWYC pricing here: Pay what you can” tickets explained
