The Square terminal allows you to quickly capture credit card data and pass it to Square for processing orders in ThunderTix. To use a Square terminal, first sign up for Square following the directions in our tutorial, How do I integrate the Square payment gateway with ThunderTix?


The terminal must be purchased directly from Square. Once you've received your terminal and successfully tested a credit card transaction in ThunderTix, you're ready for the next step -- setting up your terminal. Once you have connected your Square payment gateway, ensure that you are using compatible credit card terminal hardware (for Square, this is the Terminal; the Register is not compatible with ThunderTix). The Square Terminal looks like this:





1. First, make sure that your Square Terminal is fully charged and turned "On" and connected to WiFi. Keep in mind that the Square Terminal can only be connected to one Point of Sale at a time, so if you are already signed it, tap into the navgiation menu to find Settings and click "Sign Out".
   
   
2. Next, login to ThunderTix on a browser and head to your Gateway page. 
   
   
3. You'll then want to shift back to your Square Terminal and click on "Sign in" and then "Use Device Code". 
   
   
4. Back in ThunderTix, click the "Add a Square Terminal" button, as seen in the screenshot here:

   

   
   
   
5. From here, copy the device code from ThunderTix that appears in the popup window into the Terminal and then click on “I have received the confirmation”.
   
   

   

   
   
   
6. The Square Terminal should now be connected to your ThunderTix account, and you will see something similar to the following, with something included in the "Attached Terminals" section:
   
   
   

   

7. You are now ready to process a transaction using the Square Terminal. See those steps below. 

Using your Square Terminal with ThunderTix
When you're processing in-person orders, you'll still need to start the order in ThunderTix. 


• Head to your Event Manager > Click on the name of your event > Sell.  
• Select your preferred seats/tickets 
• When you get to the checkout page, choose the "tab" on the checkout page for your Square Terminal. It will look like something like this:
   
  

  

• You'll first need to enter the first name, last name, and email address, then click the "Quick Checkout" or "Confirm Order" option.
• At that point, the Terminal will become available for use and you'll want to swipe, tap, or insert the credit card to your Terminal to complete the transaction.
