Security update: Two-factor authentication now required for all ThunderTix accounts - Fri - Mar 6, 2026 - 12:39pm
-
As part of our response to the phishing incident on Wednesday March 4th, we are implementing an additional security step for all ThunderTix user accounts.Effective immediately, ThunderTix now requires two-factor authentication (2FA) for every login. When you sign in, we will send a one-time verification code to the email address on file for your user account, and you’ll need to enter that code to complete login. What this means for you
- You’ll continue to log in with your username and password as usual.
- After entering your password, you’ll be prompted for a verification code.
- The code will be sent to the email address associated with your ThunderTix user account.
Action needed- Please ensure you have access to the email inbox tied to your ThunderTix account.
- If you need to update the email address on your ThunderTix user account, please do so before your next login (or contact us and we’ll help).
That also means, that if you've previously shared a login with multiple people, 2FA will get in the way of continuing that process. We strongly recommend creating individual user logins for ALL people that access ThunderTix.Creating Individual User Accounts:
Each ticket seller can have their own username and password with restricted permissions. You can set them up with minimal access - they'll only be able to sell tickets with no other administrative permissions. There's no limit to the number of users you create and no cost per user.
Benefits of Individual Accounts:
- No more 2FA dependency on your email
- Each seller can log in independently at [https://admin.thundertix.com](https://admin.thundertix.com)
- All orders will be tied to the specific user's login for better tracking
- You can run reports to see exactly which seller processed which orders
Tracking Sales by Individual Sellers:
You can easily search ticket sales by user through the Orders section. Under Channel, choose "Agent" and a dropdown will appear with your list of users. This lets you see sales totals and revenue per seller, plus track cash that should be on hand for each shift.
Setting Up Restricted Access:
When you create these user accounts, you can restrict their permissions so they can only sell tickets. If they were to log into a browser, the only thing they could do would be sell tickets on behalf of customers - no access to reports, event editing, or other administrative functions.Important reminder
Please avoid clicking unexpected login links from emails. When logging in, use your normal bookmarked ThunderTix login page or type the address directly into your browser. If you have any questions or need help receiving your verification code, reply to this email and our team will assist right away.
