SMS Text Messages Now Available for Two-Factor Authentication - Wed - May 20, 2026 - 4:46pm

  • We have released an update to expand two-factor authentication (2FA) options in ThunderTix. In addition to using an authenticator app or email verification codes, users can now receive 2FA codes by SMS text message.

This provides another convenient and secure way to verify your login when accessing your account.

    What’s new

    SMS text message verification codes

Users can now choose to receive their two-factor authentication codes by text message during login.

This option can be enabled individually for each user account.

How to enable SMS text verification for another user

Administrators can enable SMS text verification for other users by following these steps:

    •  Go to Account Settings
    •  Select Users
    •  Choose the user you want to update
    •  Click Edit Profile
    •  Select Manage Two-Factor Authentication Settings
    •  Under SMS Text Message, click Set Up

How to enable SMS text verification for yourself

Individual users can also configure SMS text verification within their own profile settings:

    •  Click your profile in the upper right-hand corner
    •  Select View
    •  Click Edit Profile
    •  Select Manage Two-Factor Authentication Settings
    •  Under SMS Text Message, click Set Up

    What happens during login

    Once SMS verification is enabled:

    •  Enter your username and password as usual
    •  Select SMS text message as your verification method
    •  Receive a verification code by text message
    •  Enter the code to complete login

    Why this matters

    This update helps:

    •  Provide more flexibility for two-factor authentication
    •  Give users another secure login option
    •  Make verification more convenient for users who prefer text messages over email or authenticator apps

    Things to keep in mind

    •  SMS delivery depends on cellular service availability
    •  Standard messaging rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier
    •  Users can still continue using authenticator apps or email verification if preferred
    •  Each user must configure SMS verification individually within their profile settings (or an admin can set it up for them)
